Summer is upon us and the weather is getting warmer (or wetter in Connecticut). We are fast approaching the busiest time of year at MyCTRentals.com. Leases are expiring and renewing all around the state and renters are looking for new places to live like no other time of year. Although we can’t brag about any cool new tangible features this month, we can say we now are able to accommodate the increased volume of traffic (and more!) after a mid-June hosting change. The site is considerably and noticeably faster now, and will aid in providing you an enjoyable experience while browsing our site.
We are also in the early stages of a homepage redesign to bring you more information front and center. We hope to have a report on that next month. Stay tuned!

In today’s times, information can move across the internet instantaneously allowing you to stay up to date on just about all facets of life, from the latest news and weather, stock quotes, family photo albums, and virtually any information you could ever need is all at your finger tips. We have recognized the opportunity for real-time information on MyCTRentals.com, and have come up with a few methods for you to stay on top of the most popular listings and latest news.
First and foremost, we are providing RSS feeds for the Latest News and Most Popular Listings. You can use these feeds in your preferred RSS reader, or if you’re new to the RSS scene, let us suggest the Google Reader for you.
The feature we’re most excited about, however, are these brand new widgets which can be easily added with a few clicks of the mouse. Now you can have these widgets easily added to Windows Vista, Apple Dashboard, iGoogle homepage, Opera, Windows Live, or Netvibes.com.

Well, it’s been a long time, but we are back.
We’ve fixed a few things that have been driving us crazy. Maybe they’ve been driving you crazy too. Here they are, in no particular order:
- Instant Photos – No more waiting for your photos to be approved. As soon as you send them, they are visible.
- Integrated Google Maps – See where a property is located without leaving the site.
Stay tuned for more!

We have some great new features to tell you about this month. Many of our changes have been based on what you, our users, have asked for. Thanks again for your feedback. Please continue to contact us with any questions/comments/concerns you have!
More Exposure
The most notable change we have made will be transparent to most users, but carries the biggest impact. We have optimized the site to make it easier for search engines like Google to crawl our site. What does this mean for you? Simply put, more exposure. Potential renters will have an easier time finding you and your property than ever before.
Easier-to-use Control Panel
The most apparent change is a slightly redesigned control panel. We have aimed to eliminate some of the confusion surrounding managing your property listings, most notably, “activating” and “deactivating” properties.
We’ve also added a new “preview” button so you can view your property listing directly from the control panel. This eliminates the hassle of doing a search to view your property listing.
Lastly, we have changed the security deposit field to allow text, in addition to dollar figures. Many users expressed the need to display security deposit information as text, as in, “One Month’s Rent” instead of dollar amounts. You spoke, we listened.
More to Come
That’s all for now, but there is more to come. We have some great new features debuting in the coming months that we can’t wait to show you. Until then –
